Sergio Arcuri, an uncompromising winemaker dedicated to quality production, maintains and respects his family’s tradition of making wine which dates back to 1880. Sergio’s wines are all aged in cement containers, the method ensuring that the quality and expressiveness of the fruit ends up directly in the bottle.

1880 - Peppe Arcuri (Sergio’s great-grandfather) begins grape growing
1948 - Guiseppe Arcuri plants Gaglioppo vineyards in Ciro Marina
1973 - Sergio and Francesco Arcuri begin making and selling vino sfuso
2009 - Sergio begins bottling the wines he produces
— LOCATION —
Sergio grows grapes on a variety of parcels of land in and around Ciro Marina. Some of the vineyards look right out onto the Ionian Sea in Ciro Marina, others are located in the hilly regions defined by the valleys that extend inward from the coast. Sea breezes provide a cooling influence in this hot climate region. Those breezes, along with clay and limestone soils give a notable briny tang to Arcuri wines.
